Permanent makeup is an excellent way to enhance your natural features and minimize the time you spend getting ready in the morning. If you have invested in permanent makeup, you want the results to last as long as possible. Here are our top tips for taking care of your new permanent makeup after your appointment:
- Right after your permanent makeup appointment, excess lymph fluid may drain from the area. Use a clean tissue to absorb this fluid and repeat this process approximately every five minutes to keep these fluids from hardening on the treated spot.
- During the week following your permanent makeup appointment, wash the treated area carefully to remove the buildup of product, oils, and bacteria. Once you are done cleaning the area, pat dry using a clean tissue. Do not use any products containing exfoliants or acids.
- Use an aftercare moisturizer to hydrate the treated area three times a day the week after your permanent makeup appointment. Be careful not to oversaturate your skin with this product.
We also recommend using a fresh pillowcase every night when you go to sleep and avoiding any chemical treatments, like facials or microdermabrasion, during the four weeks following your appointment. You should also avoid getting too hot and sweaty when you exercise for a week and wear a hat when you go outside.
We are excited for your permanent makeup appointment and look forward to helping you boost your confidence through this treatment. For more information about aftercare or to learn more about permanent makeup in general, contact us today.
