microblading is quickly gaining popularity

It was not too long ago that we were obsessed with making our eyebrows thin. We would use tiny tweezers and pluck out the hairs until there was hardly anything but a whisper of an eyebrow. Oh, how times have changed! We now realize that having thicker, bolder brows are a better way to frame your face as well as make you appear more youthful. While there are many ways you can make your eyebrows appear fuller and tidier with some makeup magic, microblading is quickly gaining popularity as the smarter alternative. We here at Lily Handt health + beauty are here to answer some of the most frequent microblading questions that we are asked by our guests:

  • What is microblading? Microblading is a series of small, semi-permanent tattoos that are applied to look like strands of hair along your eyebrows or hairline, giving you the appearance of fuller eyebrows. The pigment is usually applied with a microblade, which is about the size of a small needle. At Lily Handt health + beauty, our pigments are all natural and organic.
  • Does it hurt? Everyone has different tolerance to pain, but most people do not feel much during microblading. In many cases, a topical numbing agent will do the trick and even then, the recovery pain is often described as feeling like a mild sunburn.
  • How long does it last? Great question! Lasting time varies depending on what you are starting with, the individual’s skin type, age of the skin, lifestyle, daily medications and so on. Microblading usually takes 2+ sessions before it is complete. If you maintain the touchups on your brows over time, the microblading will last year after year. Remember, this is semi-permanent pigment and not a permanent tattoo, so touchups will be necessary over time.
  • What if it looks bad? It is important to do your research! So finding an expert the first time is worth it.
